Instructor of Anthropology
Professor Ryan has taught a variety of anthropology courses for over 24 years, both on campus and online, five levels of English composition courses for eleven years, and a women’s studies course for two years. Along with traditional on-campus courses, Ryan has taught in a number of off-campus locations, including in factories, community centers, and in the Indiana prison system for nineteen years. Prior to teaching college courses, she devoted twenty-five years to Classical Ballet, both dancing and teaching, working as a home-based mental health case manager and residential houseparent, running a horse boarding stable, and living ‘back to the land’ in the woods of southern Indiana.
Professor Ryan has a Master of Arts in Anthropology from Ball State University and a Bachelor of Science in Religious Studies also from Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
