SEC 621 Background Investigations

Strategic security professionals must know as much as possible about the people with whom they must deal. This often requires at least a limited background check and sometimes a more detailed investigation. Students taking this course will learn how to plan and conduct efficient, thorough, and accurate background investigations and analysis while adhering to legal and ethical guidelines.

The course learning outcomes that you will demonstrate upon completion of this course are as follows:

Analyze the importance of security consciousness.

Evaluate the role that a background screening process may have in the identification of a sexual predator.

Recognize potential violence in the workplace through proper screening.

Examine how a proper background may mitigate employee fraud.

Employ the progression of a background check from the initial application through the final offer for employment.
