Master’s of Science in Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies

In the master’s in counter terrorism degree program the instructors emphasize mastery of core skills such as intelligence writing, threat management, counterterrorism briefing, and anti-terrorism techniques throughout all our counter terrorism courses. This terrorism and counter terrorism degree online program also provides opportunities to conduct specialized study in topics such as cybersecurity, influence warfare, and counterterrorism strategy. All counter terrorism courses towards the master's in counter terrorism are four and a half quarter units unless otherwise noted.

Program Outcomes

Graduates of this counter terrorism degree online program will be able to:

  • Plan and conduct counterterrorism operations in a team leadership or management role
  • Show an advanced understanding of current terrorist threats including cybernetic attacks and threats involving weapons of mass destruction (WMD)
  • Develop and conduct advanced intelligence collection programs
  • Identify and distinguish between different types of terrorism according to the ideology of the terrorists
  • Perform sophisticated terrorist threat assessments

Students with minimal knowledge of Terrorism and Counterterrorism should begin this program with CT 595 & CT 596.  These courses will be taken in place of two elective courses.  All others will begin with the required courses listed, and then may take their choice of any two of the four elective courses in the counter terrorism degree online program.
