Praveen Abhayaratne is a senior faculty member at Henley-Putnam University, with over 10 years of online teaching experience in the Counter Terrorism field. He was formerly a Research Associate at the Weapons of Mass Destruction Terrorism Research Program at the Center for Nonproliferation Studies, California. He is an independent analyst with broad experience in various roles for the government, private, and non-profit sectors conducting in-depth studies on country threat profiles, transnational crime, terrorist groups and motivations, WMD terrorism, electronic security and safety, and environmental security issues. His research interests include WMD terrorism, unconventional warfare tactics, international security issues, and the nexus between environmental issues and strategic security. He has published on subjects as varied as emergency preparedness, the LTTE’s use of WMD agents, and national security.
