Michael Savasta began his military career in the US Air Force as a security police officer and subsequently as an investigator attached to the OSI. While stationed at Andrews AFB, Savasta worked as an intelligence officer and participated in Protection Service Operations for high-ranking military and civilian personnel, including foreign dignitaries. This assignment also afforded him the privilege to serve for two years on the security detail for President Reagan.

Mr. Savasta is a retired police detective with over 36 years of experience. He specialized in property crimes, including arson and explosive investigations. He teaches courses in criminology, terrorism, tactics, digital crime and professional ethics, among other topics. Savasta has been a guest speaker for the International Law Enforcement Educator’s and Trainers Association, the American Society of Law Enforcement Trainer’s, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He has also served as a subject matter expert for the State of Florida in the areas of law enforcement curriculum.

Savasta is the co-author of two books and author of two book chapters. He has also published numerous articles in Tactical Response Magazine, Law and Order Magazine, and the Illinois Tactical Association Magazine. Mike’s current areas of interest include Hizballah, Al Qaeda, Hamas and the history of terrorism.
