Intelligence Analyst, FBI
Mr. Russo enlisted into the United States Navy in 1990 and served a total of 20 years between active duty and reserves, attaining the rank of Petty Officer First Class (E-6), with Naval Intelligence. He served combat duty on-board the battleship USS Wisconsin (BB-64) during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm (1990-92). Subsequent duty stations included Naval Criminal Investigative Services’ Multi-Threat Analysis Center as a Counter Terrorism and Counter Intelligence Analyst. Follow-on assignments included Commander, Sea Control Wing – Pacific Fleet in San Diego California as an Intelligence Analyst, Anti-Terrorism/Force Protection Officer as well as Special Security Officer. Other military intelligence experiences included all-source intelligence and Human Intelligence.
As a Navy Reservist with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) National Infrastructure Protection Center, the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Military Infrastructure Office and J-2’s Afghanistan Crisis Cell, Joint Intelligence Task Force due to the events of September 11th 2001. He had the distinguished opportunity to serve as a Defense Contractor within the FBI, Department of Homeland Security, and several other partners within the Intelligence Community. Since 2010, he has served with the FBI as an Intelligence Analyst working in threats spanning financial crimes to counter-improvised explosive devices and collection management.
Mr. Russo holds a Bachelor of Arts in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in Terrorism from American Military University and Master of Arts in Intelligence Studies with a concentration in Collections. Currently, he is a Ph.D. Candidate with Capella University in Criminal Justice.
