Williamson, William (DPA)
Program: Doctorate Strategic Security
Dr. Bill Williamson is a Department of Defense consultant in National Security. He is also a retired US Navy Captain (Submarines) who has also taught graduate national security programs for many 25 years. His last assignment was with the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, which is responsible for maintaining the technological superiority of the US Military and preventing technological surprise while achieving such surprise for adversaries through revolutionary, high payoff research that bridges the gap between fundamental discoveries and their military use. His previous assignments were with the Defense Intelligence Agency's Joint Military Intelligence Training Center as a senior instructor, as the Colin Powell Chair at the National Defense Intelligence College, as the Intelligence Analysis Department Chairman of the Joint Military Intelligence College, and in a variety of responsible roles in scientific intelligence and operations. He was recalled for assignments as an Operational Division Chief in Desert Shield/Desert Storm and in Operation Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (Iraq). He was Staff Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency Director's Scientific Advisory Board under the present Director of National Intelligence Graduate teaching assignments have included the Naval War College as instructor for US Naval Academy faculty, The American Military University, and the American University School of Government and Public Administration. He is a US Naval Academy graduate (BSEE) with Masters from the University of Southern California (MS Systems Management), Georgetown University (MA National Security) and Nova Southeastern (MA Public Administration/National Security) and a Doctorate from Nova Southeastern (DPA Public Administration/National Security). He is an active member of the National Military Intelligence Association and the International Association for Intelligence Education.
