Intelligence Management

Edwin Urie, a veteran of the CIA, NSA, and US Army with 45 years of experience in the field, teaches courses in terrorist organizations and intelligence policy. A former government executive with extensive experience in Intelligence Community management, Mr. Urie has served in over 32 countries supporting a variety of US government agencies. He most recently served on a contract basis as a subject matter expert, security specialist, and Senior Technical Advisor on security, access control, and related issues to support Government and other entities. Previously he worked extensively in establishing technology development partnerships between the Defense and Intelligence Communities, providing information technology, fiscal management, human resource management, security, education and training, multimedia services, and logistics/facilities support. He has also been involved in developing new information management systems used to protect sensitive material as well as developing risk analysis methodologies and security countermeasures where applicable. Mr. Urie served in the US Army and retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. He also served as an Adjunct Faculty Member of the US Army Command & General Staff College, and as an instructor and as Director of Officer Courses for the 2071st US Army Reserve Forces School. He has a graduate certificate in Telecommunications and Information Technology from Johns Hopkins University, and an MS in Administration from George Washington University. Since 2001 he has also served as an Adjunct Professor with the Johns Hopkins University, Carey Business School, teaching courses in Security Management and Process and Operations Management.
