Mr. Patrick Hayes currently holds the rank of Lieutenant in the United States Coast Guard (USCG) and is now assigned to the Maritime Law Enforcement Academy located at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Charleston, SC. There LT Hayes duties include Deputy Branch Chief of the Law Department, Training Specialist/Instructor, and International Military Officer Liaison.
LT Hayes’s prior assignments have included Team Leader of one of the first USCG anti-terrorism units located in King’s Bay, GA, a tour as a Maritime Intelligence Officer in Newport News, VA, and a Port Security Specialist located in Rota, Spain.
Before entering the Coast Guard, LT Hayes served ten years with the North Carolina State Highway Patrol specializing in vehicle investigations, commercial vehicle inspections, drug/interstate criminal interdiction, and acted as one of the agency’s law enforcement instructors. When Mr. Hayes departed the agency he held the rank of First Sergeant.
LT Hayes’s academic experience ranges from providing instructional “hands on” material to military and civilian law enforcement academies to the classrooms of junior and community colleges. LT Hayes received his BS in Business and Organizational Development from Mount Olive College, Mount Olive, NC and his MSI, Master of Strategic Intelligence from American Military University, Manassas, VA.
