Dr. Florence has over two decades of practical security industry experience and leadership, working with Fortune 1000 companies including Sprint, The Venetian Resort Hotel, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Fidelity Investments and the First Union National Bank. Dr. Florence maintains the professional designation of Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and is Board Certified in Security Management.

Dr. Florence combines her senior level security industry background with a passion for teaching and mentoring. She brings that blended scholar/practitioner approach to the job and has demonstrated a strong commitment to student success over her 20+ years of teaching. This year she has leveraged her record of academic excellence as Dean of the Strategic Security and Protection Management (SS&PM) program at Henley-Putnam University. She is now assuming responsibility for leading and overseeing the Doctoral Program in Strategic Security.

As Dean of Doctoral Program in Strategic Security, Dr. Florence will evaluate existing programs and develop and implement new modules to ensure that all Henley-Putnam doctoral curriculum and faculty offer the greatest value to the student body, both during their studies at Henley-Putnam and throughout the remainder of their careers.
