A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel and combat veteran with more than 30 years of distinguished military service as both a Military Intelligence officer and U.S. Army Civilian, Dr. Wenger has served in a variety of intelligence and security, operations, and command /staff positions. Previous positions include intelligence and security positions with the G-2, U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command / Army Forces Strategic Command,  Deputy Brigade Commander (704th MI BDE), Deputy J2-X (Counterintelligence / Human Intelligence) Central Command, Associate Dean at the Defense Language Institute, Professor of Military Science, Battalion and Brigade S2, and Counterdrug Analysis Team Senior Analyst in Guatemala. A native of Pennsylvania, Dr. Wenger holds a Doctorate of Management from Colorado Technical University. Dr. Wenger’s doctoral dissertation was a qualitative investigation of the discrimination faced by today’s post-9/11 military veterans related to the public stigma of PTSD.

Dr. Wenger’s military career began in 1981 when he enlisted in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard and attended Basic Infantry Training at Fort Benning, GA. Upon completion, he enrolled in the Army ROTC program at Pennsylvania State University, continued to serve in the Pennsylvania National Guard, and received his commission as a Second Lieutenant in 1984. Following college graduation in 1985, he entered active duty. Upon his retirement from the U.S. Army in 2007, he served as a senior Army Civilian with the SMDC/ARSTRAT G-2 as the Chief, G-2 Intelligence Branch, and as the Chief, G-2 Security Branch until his civilian retirement in 2015.
