During his tenure in NYPD’s elite Counterterrorism Division, Mr. Poland’s duties included intelligence analysis and critical infrastructure protection. In this role Mr. Poland was viewed as a subject matter expert on terrorist threat and mitigation strategies. These duties also included conducting threat and vulnerability assessments at possible target locations such as financial institutions, government owned facilities, stadiums, transportation hubs, and other sensitive locations. In addition to his assigned duties, Mr. Poland also acted as an instructor to police officers and foreign visitors who enrolled in certain counterterrorism training with the NYPD. Mr. Poland holds a Masters of Strategic Intelligence with a concentration in Terrorism Studies (American Military University) and a Bachelor of Science in Security Management (John Jay College of Criminal Justice).
