INT 320 Propaganda & Disinformation

This course offers an introduction to propaganda and explains its three main varieties –  black, gray, and white –  as well as related topics such as public relations, advertising, psychological warfare, disinformation (as opposed to misinformation), forgeries, and influence operations. Students will learn how these are applied in the field by reviewing carefully selected case studies.

Research, evaluate, and discuss diverse sources of information including the principal theories and techniques associated with propaganda and disinformation

Analyze complex matters related to propaganda and disinformation

Demonstrate how to conduct advanced investigations in the field of study

Analyze and discuss cases and incidents of the use and effectiveness of propaganda and disinformation

Demonstrate effective communication skills useful for intelligence practitioners
