Henley-Putnam University Receives Honor as a Top U.S. Military-Friendly School

College to be included in Military Advanced Education’s 3rd Annual Guide to Military-Friendly Colleges

San Jose, CA, November 19, 2009 ― Henley-Putnam University, the country’s leading accredited online institution specializing in the field of Strategic Security, will be featured in Military Advanced Education’s 3rd Annual Guide to America’s Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities.

The University was included in the guide for its “inspired effort put into making it easier for our men and women in uniform to advance their careers by enhancing their educations.” The university was informed of this honor on the heels of being named among the top military-friendly schools in the country by G.I. Jobs magazine.

“We are proud to receive our second acknowledgement this year as an American university committed to creating opportunities for service members,” said Michael Corcoran, PhD, Henley-Putnam University president and former U.S. Secret Service agent. “Our elite, experienced faculty, specialized degree programs, and unique mentoring program are all designed to maximize opportunities for military professionals who want to advance their careers in intelligence, terrorism and counterterrorism, and personal protection.”

Schools included in the 3rd Annual Guide to America’s Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities were selected based on each institution’s favorable policies toward our men and women in uniform.

Henley-Putnam University is approved for use of Veteran benefits and supported by DANTES, the American military's off-duty voluntary education program. The University is a member of Servicemembers Opportunity Colleges (SOC) Consortium, the American Council on Education (ACE) and the Council of College and Military Educators (CCME). Henley-Putnam works with military students to give them allowable credit for their education and training through challenge, ACE credit recommendations, experiential learning and transfer credit.

Henley-Putnam’s faculty is comprised of seasoned professionals with extensive hands-on experience in military, law enforcement, counterterrorism and intelligence. The University offers a mentoring program that pairs students with professionals from all areas of the strategic security world to usher them through the transition process.
