Enlisting in the Army in 1970, Juan Bacigalupi started as an aircraft mechanic and rose through the ranks to become an Intelligence Officer, eventually retiring with the rank of Major. During his time in Military Intelligence, he became a specialist in imagery and intelligence analysis, including duties as chief of intelligence for the ground forces during the evening shift, operation Desert Storm. He analyzed intelligence information and advised commander on all aspects of enemy, weather and terrain to enable him to conduct combat operations. Dr. Bacigalupi also served as an imagery analyst with the Defense Intelligence Agency, in the command, control and communications department where he provided all-source intelligence reports to different consumers in the armed forces while working at the Defense Intelligence Agency. He conducted and coordinated intelligence training for imagery analysts at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, during implementation of the first soldier specialty exams, achieving highest percentage scores in the Army.
After retiring from the Army in 1993, he attended Universidad Central del Este, achieving a Medical Doctor degree. Dr. Bacigalupi continued his studies in Suffolk University, receiving a Master in Public Administration, with a concentration in Health Administration. Currently he is enrolled in the second year of law school, enrolled in Concord Law School, an internet law school, based in Los Angeles, California.
