Henley-Putnam University’s highly focused programs are geared to serve the military professional seeking Advancement. Our team includes over twenty individuals who have prior military service. Military officers, past and present, can be found among the ranks of our faculty, advisors and administrators. Much attention has been paid to making our degrees align with DoD training and educational initiatives so that getting a degree from us will make a difference in your career. No other program offers the depth of study (112 courses) in the fields of intelligence, terrorism and counterterrorism studies and management of personal protection. Our focus is our strength.

The Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council is listed by the U.S. Department of Education as a nationally recognized accrediting agency, and is a recognized member of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
- The University is approved to train veterans and other eligible persons which may allow you to qualify for Tuition Assistance and/or MGI Bill benefits, including “Top Up” benefits.
- The University is affiliated with the Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES).

- Do you need help deciding between the new Post 9/11 Ch 33 benefits or one of the other available benefits, such as the MGIB Ch 30? Are you unsure about the differences as it pertains to distance education and California schools? Since the election of Post 9/11 Ch 33 is irrevocable, it is important you understand how each benefit will affect your finances while attending Henley-Putnam University. - The Admissions process is a quick, easy three-step process in which we assist you in completing the paperwork and there are NO fees of any kind to pay for U.S. citizens. Learn more
- The maximum allowable transfer of credits under the ACE guidelines will be awarded at time of enrollment. Additional occupational or experiential credits may be awarded toward graduation, post enrollment, if an optional portfolio review is requested by you.

- Text Book Voucher Program. The University is offering, to military students who qualify, a onetime $1000.00 book voucher. The voucher can only be used at the University’s online bookstore. The University will notify the student about the voucher program prior to starting their first course. The military student will then be notified by the online bookstore by email with the voucher number and procedure. The voucher has a six (6) month expiration date. No extensions or refunds will be granted to unused amounts that pass the six month expiration. Henley-Putnam University includes the cost of all textbooks in the Tuition for the Certificate Programs.
- A forgiving Leave of Absence policy is applied to all deployed active duty military personnel to allow you to pick up where you left off upon your return to normal duty. See our Catalog under the Leaves of Absence section. Certificate students are not eligible for a leave of absence.

Law Enforcement
We know what matters
For starters, the President of Henley-Putnam University, Michael Corcoran, Ph.D., was a former police officer who subsequently went on to pursue a distinguished career in the U.S. Secret Service. Over fifteen individuals across our University have served in law enforcement in varying capacities including teaching at police academies and in POST certified courses at the local, state and federal levels. In addition to numerous local police and sheriff departments, our faculty and staff have past or present relationships with the following law enforcement agencies: U.S. Secret Service, FBI, Department of Homeland Security, Federal Air Marshall Service, U.S. Postal Inspectors, NYPD and LAPD to name a few.
