Student Resources

Did you know that if you are enrolled in a degree program, you may request a mentor to provide guidance and advice throughout your course of study. To request a mentor, students must complete a mentor questionnaire available in the Student Resource Library in Moodle. This questionnaire will provide us with a full understanding of your career objectives and will enable us to match you with the best mentor.

Student Resources

At Henley-Putnam University, the Student Services staff have the task of supporting degree students in whatever way is necessary to help them succeed in completing the degree programs.  Whether there is a need for assistance in choosing elective courses, taking a temporary leave of absence or obtaining extra tutorial help in developing writing skills, the Student Services staff is there to serve you.   Principal services offered include:

Academic Advisement
Each entering student will review program requirements with Admissions personnel as a component of the initial enrollment process.  Each entering student's transcripts will be evaluated during the student’s first quarter of enrollment for assessment of credit transfer acceptability.

Mentoring
Mentoring services are provided by the University to allow degree students to seek guidance and advice from faculty members and outside experts who are veteran professionals in their fields.  A team of over sixty mentors are available to serve you.  This service is provided free of charge and is optional.

Student Honor Society
To recognize high and stellar academic achievement of our students and graduates, we are pleased to announce that Henley-Putnam University has joined the Delta Epsilon Tau International Honor Society. Pre-Assessment Survey
New students will be required to take a Pre-assessment Survey after their first quarter to help plan their academic program. For incoming students in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs, Henley-Putnam University measures basic communication and values through a communication skills assessment and a Hartman Value Profile. The communication skills assessment has two parts: grammar (which covers parts of speech, basic grammar, sentence structure, and commonly misused word pairs), and writing. The Hartman Value Profile measures an individual person’s propensity and capacity to value. Taken together, this pre-program component will help Henley-Putnam University better assess our new students’ abilities to be successful in online learning, so that we can provide essential tools, training, and mentoring in anticipation of student needs.

IT Services
Every first-time student receives both a written guide to the university’s computer course instruction system as well as the opportunity to get personalized coaching.  Afterwards, the IT Services staff stands ready to provide ongoing help with the information systems to students if required.

Bookstore
Students may order their textbooks from the University online bookstore (http://bookstore.mbsdirect.net/henley-putnam.htm).  The bookstore is accessible online from the University home page.  Students are free to purchase textbooks at any bookstore they choose.

Student Accounting
The Student Accounting staff will assist students with filing tuition assistance documentation with employers and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Library Services
The Henley-Putnam online library features a core library collection with access to over 60 million journal articles, books, encyclopedias, newspaper, magazines, and audio and video clips. New resources and tools are being added regularly. Library services will only be provided to enrolled students.
