Bachelor of Science, Management of Personal Protection

Program Description

The bachelor’s degree in Management of Personal Protection is earned by satisfactory completion of an online program equivalent to two years of full time upper division study.  The program increases the student’s knowledge of operations in the security industry and in providing protective services to clients, their property and/or their information.  This program also provides a foundation for the student’s study at more advanced levels in this field.  All courses are four and a half credit hours unless otherwise noted.

Program Objectives

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Establish and maintain an appropriate relationship with protection clients according to industry standards
  • Conduct protective operations in accordance with protective security laws
  • Develop plans for surveillance and other means of collecting intelligence, analyze and identify possible threats based on that intelligence
  • Plan and conduct advances
  • Develop and implement procedures to protect a client facing threats
  • Respond as appropriate to emerging threats to a client

Bachelor of Science, Intelligence Management

Program Description

The bachelor’s degree in Intelligence Management is earned by satisfactory completion of an online program equivalent to two years of full time upper division study.   The program introduces the student to the basic concepts of intelligence gathering and analysis.  The student will begin to understand how intelligence manifests itself in many ways, requiring an astute and open mind to determine how to analyze and understand what and where intelligence can be found as well as how it can be used.  This program also provides a basis for the student’s study at more advanced levels.  All courses are four and a half credit hours unless otherwise noted.

Program Objectives

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Display an understanding of the general workings of the intelligence industry both at home and abroad
  • Draw upon a solid grounding in general strategy and the history of intelligence to inform current practices and methods
  • Identify and compile information of intelligence value from open sources, distinguish factual information from misinformation or propaganda and treat it accordingly
  • Conduct basic intelligence collection, threat assessments, and counterintelligence
  • Understand and apply the tools of basic intelligence analysis
  • Show a knowledge of clandestine and illicit economies and networks 

Bachelor of Science, Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies

Program Description

The bachelor’s degree in Terrorism and Counterterrorism Studies is earned by satisfactory completion of an online program equivalent to two years of full time upper division study.   The program introduces the student to the basic concepts of terrorism and counterterrorism.  Presenting emphasis in understanding extremist, terrorists groups and their operations allows the student to appreciate the magnitude of the problem.  This degree also provides the counterterrorism training necessary to provide for necessary safety and protective measures against this enemy.   This program also provides a basis for the student’s study at more advanced levels.  All courses are four and a half credit hours unless otherwise noted.

Program Objectives

Graduates of this program will be able to:

  • Display a detailed knowledge of current terrorist organizations and ideologies, their methods, targets, support structures, and motives
  • Conduct basic counterintelligence operations
  • Conduct basic counterterrorism operations
  • Plan and set up appropriate intelligence collection program
  • Analyze and evaluate collected intelligence to identify terrorist threats
  • Develop, evaluate, and refine contingency planning for terrorist attacks
  • Show an understanding of consequence management
